Power Surge: Murata sparks growth with electrifying investment

The Japanese electronics giant Murata, which has a factory in Calvados (Caen), wants to double its production capacity on this site. About 66 million euros will be spent on this project.

Murata, leader in electronic components

Murata’s project in Caen

Murata’s site in Caen manufactures passive silicon integrated components. To supply two major markets, cell phones and electric cars, Murata will invest around 66 million euros in its Caen site to double its production and create a production line for 200 mm silicon wafers. Around 100 jobs will be created by 2025.
