Normandy is a region highly renowned for the quality of its produce, livestock, and fishing. Its agricultural sector can be summed up as follows:
- Leading French producer of dairy, cider and seafood products;
- 2.1 million hectares under cultivation;
- €3.6 billion in sales annually;
- 22 red labels, a French indicator designating products of a higher quality compared to similar products.
The region’s ambition going forward is to offer a greener, more sustainable agriculture.
Agri Normandie: promoting agricultural training and jobs.
The Agri Normandie platform has been developed to raise young people’s awareness of agriculture and the jobs it offers. Supported by the Normandy Regional Council, this new platform promotes the diversity and potential of agricultural careers. There are around 250 branches in the agricultural sector. By using the platform, people will be able to find information about the sector and its different professions.
Agri Normandie: a digital platform
This platform demonstrates the region’s desire to go digital. In today’s fast-paced world, access to constantly updated information is crucial. With this platform, digital technology is at the service of agriculture, making the sector better known and more attractive.
Normandy will have a strong representation at the Paris International Agricultural Show, taking place from 24th February to 3rd March. Professionals from right across the sector will be available to discuss any aspects of this platform, and to consider the sector more widely.
